The ancient city of Pompeii is one of the most popular attractions on any trip to Italy. However, it can be difficult to manage without transport. We suggest you take our comfortable air-conditioned coach down the Highway of the Sun to discover this acclaimed UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Skip the Lines into Ancient Pompeii

Your tour will begin by joining your English-speaking tour leader in Rome. They will travel with you through the region of Campania which they know so well, and they will also deal with the lines and entrance tickets for you.

After skipping the lines you’ll enter the archaeological zone with an official Pompeii tour guide to discover what has been uncovered from underneath the 4 meters of rubble and ash that rained down on this spot in 79AD. This is an experience far removed from the dry history of a museum as you will be able to walk through the preserved rooms, shops and monuments that are just as they were since the eruption.

Authentic Lunch with views of Naples

Our tour elevates your experience with an all-inclusive lunch at an authentic Italian restaurant, featuring panoramic views of the Bay of Naples. Delight in a traditional meal comprising of pizza, an appetizer, and dessert, providing a genuine taste of Italian cuisine. Take advantage of this opportunity to recharge for the upcoming journey to Mt. Vesuvius.

Look down from Mt Vesuvius or Explore with a Geologist

From April to early-November you will have the rare opportunity to climb to the top of one of the deadliest volcanoes in Europe. Your coach will take you most of the way up Mt. Vesuvius

and the remaining hike is enjoyable and worth it to see the steaming calderas and the view of the landscape below with Sorrento and Capri set in the sea like jewels on a crown.

Alternatively, opt for our second hiking option starting March 31, 2024, guided by a knowledgeable geologist. This informative exploration caters to those interested in geology or seeking a more moderate hike on Vesuvius.

Free time in the town of Positano

From early-November to March instead of visiting Mt. Vesuvius, after exploring the ancient ruins of Pompeii, your bus will take you to the charming and bubbly town of Positano. Positano offers a contrast to Rome: you can stroll along the picturesque streets, relax in its famous beach, or just shop around the local shops – you make your own itinerary!

No matter what time of the year you visit Italy, don’t let the distance stop you from taking a trip to the haunting city of Pompeii.

Important Notes

  • From early November to March the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with Positano. Also during summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
