Embark on an incredible journey to experience some of Italy's most breathtaking scenery. The Dark Rome Cinque Terre Florence in One Day tour will pack your day with an authentic taste of the Italian Riviera, where small maritime villages huddle near the sea and cling to the rocks in unbroken harmony with nature. It is no wonder that this area's history and traditions have been awarded the status of World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This part of Italy has inspired many artists, writers, and visitors who have been able to absorb its delightful atmosphere.
The day begins with a ride on a comfortable private coach from Florence to Vernazza during which one of our expert, English-speaking tour guides will provide captivating commentary on local points of interest as you pass from the region of Tuscany to Liguria. You will be able to spot the massive Carrara marble quarries where Michelangelo used to go, and learn how the rocky Ligurian coast was settled over the centuries due to the hard work of its inhabitants.
Enjoy some free time in Vernazza admiring the colorful houses and beautiful scenery, before catching the train down the coast to Monterosso. This is the largest town in Cinque Terre, and again you’ll have some free time here to enjoy everything on offer. You can swim here, too, so don’t forget to pack your swimsuit! Your tour guide is able to organize a boat trip for you with a local supplier if you wish, and this is a great way to admire the area.
Your next stop is the charming town of Manarola, with it’s lovely narrow streets and quaint little square. It feels like stepping straight into an Italian painting, and the sights will surely take your breath away. Explore it at your leisure before heading to your final stop: the tiny village of Riomaggiore. On top of a cliff, this place feels other-worldly with its tiny harbor, a rainbow of boats and plenty of admirable nature. This part of Italy really is something special, and you’ll spend each part of your day in awe of the country’s outstanding beauty.
Don't be surprised if you feel like you’re dreaming as you head back to the railway station, reach the bus and return to Florence. Pinch yourself and remember that memories last a lifetime - and some of the best are made at Cinque Terre.
