Tucked away in the hills overlooking Florence is a charming 15th century villa and vineyard. Just a 10-minute drive from the city, up narrow, winding roads, it feels worlds away. Our Florence wine tour will take you to this spectacular site for an evening of authentic food and wine…and good conversation.
At the villa, you’ll meet the wine-maker, who will accompany you on your tour. He’ll teach you about the special blends that the villa winemakers use – their wonderful red and white wines are a precise combination of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco grapes. You’ll visit the production lines and the underground wine cellar. You’ll explore the vineyards and olive groves.
Then, you’ll experience a full tasting of four wines – one white, two red and a special dessert wine – with the wine-maker describing the notes and how they’ve been inserted. But, your tour doesn’t end here!
After your wine sampling, you’ll visit the villa’s garden, where your authentic Tuscan dinner will be served. In this beautiful, quiet setting, you and your fellow guests will savor delicious appetizers, such as crostini, prosciutto, parmigiana and pecorino cheeses. Be sure to save your appetite for a regional-style pasta for primi (first course) and a traditional secondi (second course) of meat and potatoes. (Vegetarians and those with food intolerances will have other choices.)
The sun will be setting over Florence as you enjoy your dessert wine. Feeling sleepy? You won’t have to worry about getting back, we’ve arranged your transportation to the city center.
With its authentic Tuscan food and wine and memorable location, your Florence wine tour and dinner is the perfect ending to a perfect day in Florence.
